They started through its operating hotel business in the early 1980s. Their focus group was the corporate clients in Singapore. The Amara group has a hotel in the city centre where it has great resort amenities that will serve the public. As they begin to thrive, they began to set up a hotel in Shanghai, China and doors of opportunities were opened in the Asian major cities. These business opportunities have been able to increase the revenue of the Amara Holdings.
In Singapore, the Amara Holdings is the developer for various residential and commercial facilities and some of them are situated at Tanjong Pagar that is a key district. It has acquired many acres of land where they intend to develop more commercial and residential units to serve their clients. Known to many, the Amara Century Resort is developed by Amara Holdings.
